Communication with Parents

Communication with Parents

Effective communication with parents fosters trust and helps maintain safeguarding standards:

  • Transparency: Explain class activities, safety measures, and progression plans clearly.

  • Respectful updates: Share positive progress, but also address any concerns in a factual, non-judgmental way.

  • Boundaries: Avoid overstepping into personal or family matters.

  • Consent for photography/video: Always get written permission before sharing images or videos of students online. If you work with a studio it is their responsibility to collect this information at point of booking, if you are a freelance instructor you must keep records of this and comply with GDPR.

Clear, professional communication builds a supportive community while keeping children safe.
