Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Explain how children’s physical development impacts safe aerial instruction, including growth plate vulnerability and joint loading considerations.

  • Identify different learning preferences (visual, auditory, kinaesthetic) and apply blended teaching strategies within aerial sessions.

  • Recognise age-based coordination differences and adapt progressions accordingly.

  • Understand grip fatigue and endurance limitations in children, and structure sessions to prevent overuse and injury.

  • Demonstrate awareness of emotional regulation in children and apply supportive coaching strategies.

  • Adapt teaching approaches to support neurodiverse children in an inclusive and structured way.

  • Apply observation-based teaching adjustments to maintain safety, confidence, and progressive skill development.

Within this module we will dive into theory based teaching techniques and skills, you’ll also learn about children’s development and the importance of teaching within a certain scope to keep children’s growing bodies safe. Theory based teaching techniques will change and adapt in sessions as all children are different and respond to situations in different ways.
