Within your children’s classes you can use our Rainbow class planning framework to support you to keep your classes motivated. If you would prefer, you can create your own class plans, we have created our Rainbow program after years of experience it became clear that the children needed an aim, a goal and something to work towards. When implementing the program, we have noticed a significant difference in the attention, motivation and excitement of working towards an exam.
45–60 Minute Class Design
A well-structured class keeps children engaged, maximizes skill learning, and manages fatigue safely.
Teaching Points:
- Divide class into warm-up, skill blocks, game/movement breaks, and cooldown.
- Plan short, focused segments (5–10 minutes per activity) to match children’s attention span.
- Include clear transitions between activities to maintain flow.
Practical Example:
50-Minute Class Flow
- Warm-Up: Dynamic stretching, light cardio based movement, full body mobility warm up.
- Water break
- Mini Game: “Follow the Leader” using floor markers or apparatus making it age appropriate and engaging.
- Water break
- Conditioning: Conditioning for a skill relevant to the equipment.
