DBS & Safeguarding Compliance

DBS checks (Disclosure and Barring Service) verify that you are safe to work with children, and safeguarding compliance ensures child protection.

  • Maintain an up-to-date DBS certificate for all child-focused work. This must be an enhanced DBS check. As an individual you are not able to apply for your own DBS, however, you can apply via an umbrella company if you are freelance/self employed.
  • Follow safeguarding policies consistently, both in-studio and off-site. Ensure that you are aware of the safeguarding policies of the studio you are working in.
  • It is essential you complete safeguarding training and it is kept up to date, if you are self employed it is your responsibility to manage.
