Ratios

Maintaining appropriate instructor-to-student ratios ensures safety, supervision, and effective learning.

Younger or less experienced children require closer supervision. Often a 1:5 ratio is safer for aerial apparatus.
Older, more experienced students may work safely with slightly higher ratios, but always consider class layout and skill complexity.

Practical Examples:

In a class with 10 seven-year-olds, having an assistant instructor can be helpful: having two rigs available at a time with a spotter on each just in case can make the class run much smoother and safer.
During sessions where a move may require spotting, maintain one instructor per rig when children are performing inversions or climbs to allow immediate assistance if needed.

Always account for those needing extra support. This may reduce the safe ratio for a session.
